TIES Training

This month a group of small and passionate community workers came together at Te Waipuna Puawai to talk through how TIES - Tāmaki Inclusive Engagement Strategy could inform our work and practice.
Some came with many years of experience with TIES - having embedded the strategy into the work we have done for many years. Some came to learn about TIES for the first time and to understand what it means to learn a strategy that was created by the local community and how to apply its approaches and tools.

Our discussions led us through the TIES website, starting with the intent of TIES, the origin, who the TIES Team is, and how it has landed currently with the approach of self-awareness, fostering collaboration, and community voice. We deepened our conversation with stories and experiences and moved on to the tools and how we could apply them.

We ended the session with the understanding that we are all on our own unique journeys of how we engage with our communities and how we actively use the TIES tools and approaches, is how we will grow.
