Organisation Benefits
WHAT THE HEART MOVEMENT PROVIDES ALL MEMBER AND PARTNER ORGANISATIONS:
Resources (including posters and other family violence prevention resources) to share.
Regular meetings for network members. These meetings provide member organisations a space to come together to share information, update each other on their work, and to develop a collaborative response to creating healthy relationships in Tāmaki and preventing family violence.
Support in building policies and protocols for building healthy relationships and preventing family violence for the staff and the customers of the organisation.
Provide a free and accessible capability development programme for staff and community to build healthy relationships and prevent family violence.
Support in designing and integrating healthy relationship principles, messages and conversations within their organisations, if required.
Opportunities to network with other professionals and create connections within the Tāmaki community.
Free training that is responsive to the needs of network members and provides up-to-date research informed content around family violence prevention work and related topics and issues.
Partnership Agreement
This agreement is an option available to organisations who want to work in collaboration with HEART and commit to delivering specific actions in partnership with Te Waipuna Puawai. This agreement is between senior managers or organisational boards.
Increase understanding of the HEART Movement Theory of Change and to developing action within that scope.
Supporting the community mobilisation strand of the HEART Movement and the growth of the community Change Agents work.
Working with HEART to: identify service gaps; explore risk and protective factors; develop initiatives that create healthy relationships; and, strengthen service responses based on what individuals and families need, rather than service contract.
Provide support to staff to be part of these action platforms.
Membership Agreement
The HEART membership process was initiated in 2012, and provides an intent to collaborate and build skills to prevent family violence in Tāmaki. Organisations who have signed the HEART Movement membership agreement agree to:
Work with other organisations in collaborative and supportive ways and model healthy relationships with each other.
Commit to attend HEART Collective meetings where possible and if relevant.
Attend HEART training for continual learning and increase knowledge and skills on building healthy relationships for staff and community.
Display HEART posters and distribute HEART and other family violence resources to help spread the word about building healthy relationships in Tāmaki.
Promote and participate in HEART events where possible.
Staff members being ready and willing to have conversations about healthy relationships and family violence.
